  • they describe religious rituals, astronomy, and divination
  • Dresden, Madrid, and Paris codices were the only codices that werent distroyed by the Spanish for their religious content
  • The Dresden Codex had methods of solar eclipse
  • Some of the Mayan hieroglyphics were later translated into Latin script and turned into books
