So i have liked this book so far and i think that how everything falls together is pretty cool.
Where we left off is when the boat just sunk and Richard Parker is in the boat with Pi as well as the Zebra. I didn't expect there to be a zebra that randomly jumps into their boat but okay. I think that the lion will eat the zebra instead of Pi and Pi will just be scared. I also think that Pi and Richard Parker will become best friends. I know a lion and a human best friends what are you talking about, but i do think they will become friends since they pretty much only have each other to survive. In the next part of the book i think the logical thing would be that it is going to talk about Pi and Richard Parker on the boat for a really long time. I think it might get a bit boring since being on a boat or a life boat is not too exciting.
The visualizing in this book is kinda crazy. I mean it jumps around a lot so like one second I'm picturing all these monkeys and like deer and then like the next second i picture Pi praying or something religious like that. For me it is pretty easy to picture things so i don't think there is a problem with that at all but those whole italic parts in the book throw my off and i kinda just disregard of them during the whole picturing the story in my brain. I kinda just read it and remember it.
I really enjoy reading the religious parts of this book. I think it is because i personally don't care for religion and i like to still learn about others. I know a lot about other religions from reading other things but i think that in this book they take it to another level. I like seeing how Pi connects the three religions he practices. I started to think that this was just going to be about religion and was like maybe this book is not too great but then when his teacher started talking about religion i could relate to him more and i liked that part since it is more of what i believe.
I think the only problem i am really having with this book is the whole italicized parts. I do not get how these parts even fit with the book. Like in resent one its like talking about Pi and how he has a daughter and I'm like what? I just think since they jump around so much they don't need to jump around more and try to confuse me.
The only way i think i can solve this problem is by reading more of the book. I'm sure that these italicized parts will have some meaning to them. I mean its not like i forget what they say but i think it will fall together more towards the end of the book .

i liked vanessa's post. i agree about the jumping around of the book. sometimes its hard to follow but sometimes its easy. it just depends on the context and what the author is talking about.
By the way, you say lion instead of tiger... might wanna change that :)
